materials & tools
- Yarn: Hobbii Metallico (70% Polyamide, 21 % Acrylic, 9% Merino Wool), Aran weight (#4), 115m (125yds), 50g (1.75oz). 6 balls of Colour A (Shade 2), 2 balls of Colour B (Shade 3), 2 balls of Colour C (Shade 4).
You will also need:
- Hook: 5mm
- Scissors
- Darning Needle
- Stitch Marker (Optional but useful to have)
Convert Pattern Terms
Here you can quickly switch between UK and US crochet terms. This will make following the pattern easier as all terms will be converted to your preferred version.
terms & abbreviations
- Slip Stitch (ss): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, then pull yarn through stitch and loop on hook
- Chain (ch): Yarn over, then pull through one loop on hook
- Double Crochet (dc): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have two loops on the hook. Yarn over, then pull through remaining two loops.
- Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, then pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, then pull through remaining two loops.

- Skill Level: Beginner
- Gauge: At the end of row 5, your triangle should measure 21 cm (8.25 inch) wide by 10 cm (4 inch) from centre to point.
- Completed Size: 176 cm (69.25 inch) approx. wide by 108 cm (42.5 inch) approx. from centre to point.

You are viewing this pattern in UK terms.
- Row 31-40: Repeat row 6-10 twice, changing to Colour B in the last st of row 40. Then fasten off Colour A. Turn. [242 tr, 80 ch-1 sp, 1 ch-3 sp at the end of row 40]
- Row 41-45: Repeat row 6-10, changing to Colour A in the last st of row 45. Fasten off Colour C. Turn. [272 tr, 90 ch-1 sp, 1 ch-3 sp at the end of row 45]
- Row 46-47: Repeat row 6-7. Turn. [376 tr, 2 ch-1 sp, 1 ch-3 sp at the end of row 47
- Row 48: Ch 1, 2 dc in ch-sp, dc in each st to ch-3 sp, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in ch-3 sp.
- Dc in each st to ch-sp, 2 dc in ch-sp. Fasten off. [384 dc, 1 ch-1 sp]
- Sew in ends and block your work as desired.

Loving this pattern so far–quite easy to follow as a new-ish crocheter. However I’m on row 17 and finding it very challenging that there are not stich counts for every row. Is that information somewhere, or is there an easy way to calculate that, as it’s hard to when I miss a stich but don’t know which of the last several rows is the problem . Thank you!
Hi Arianna Thank you, I’m glad you like it I’m afraid I don’t have the stitch counts for each individual row but the written pattern does let you know how many stitches you should have at the end of each pattern repeat.

Hi Sherida The finished size of this is approximately 176cm wide by 108cm deep. To make one for a girl you would probably want to make it smaller, either by working less repeats or by using a thinner yarn and smaller hook
I am watching the video and also following the written version. Why is it I can’t get the correct stitch count the written pattern has? I have started this over at least six times and still can’t get it correct count. Please help me. Thank you
Hi Mary, is there a particular row that you’re not getting the correct count on or is it from the beginning? After row one you should have eight trebles, two chain one spaces and one chain three space. Remember that your chain four at the beginning counts as one stitch plus a chain one space I find that stitch markers are very useful for keeping track of how many stitches you have too.
