terms & abbreviations
Chain Space(ch-sp)
Slip Stitch (ss): Insert hook into space, yarn over and pull through stitch and loop on hook
Chain (ch): Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook.
Double Crochet(s): dc(s): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have two loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Treble Crochet(s): (tr): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.
Half Treble Crochet(s): htr(s): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through remaining three loops.
Double Treble(s): dtr(s): Yarn over hook twice, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have four loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.

Free Pattern: crochet Poppy

Foundation: Ch4 and ss in forth ch from hook to form a circle.
Round 1: Ch1, 10dc, ss to first dc to join.
Round 2: Ch2, 2tr, 2tr, 3dtr, 2tr, ch2, ss, ch2, 3tr, 2tr, 3dtr, 3tr, ch2, ss in next st and tie off.
Sew in ends
Poppy centre
10dc into a magic circle and connect. Leave a long tail end for sewing onto the poppy OR you could use a black button.

Foundation: Ch10
First side: 3tr in third ch from the hook, tr in next 3 sts, htr in next 2 sts, dc, ss, ch 2.
Second side: ss (in same space as previous ss), dc, htr in next 2 sts, tr in next 3 sts, 3tr in next st, join with ss in top of first st.
To continue on and add a stem: ch4, dc into 3rd chain from hook, dc into next ch. ss to base of leaf. Tie off leaving a long tail end for sewing.
Sew in the beginning end and then sew all the pieces together using photos as a guide.
